Why do people think all latinas are tan?

They think if your latina you must be tan.That's not true there are latinas who are tan and have no black blood in them.I'm latina but im darker skin but im 100% mexican no black ancestry what so ever only aztec indian blood.People think when they see a dark skin tan person they must be middle eastern,indian or pakistan.Why is this? There are many beautiful dark skin latinas
