Atheist : How do you apply critical thinking and skepticism with out it leading you into cynicism?

Couldn't constant or over use of critical thinking cause someone to be cynical to the point where it causes them to question everything and everyone and their motives ? Leading to trust issues, and maybe even behavioral problems such as paranoia ? Thanks in advance for your answers . God bless.
