Do North Americans understand UK English in Brit TV/film/media? What phrases stick in your mind or baffle you?

I'm a Brit and I find the differences between American and British English really interesting. I'm just curious about what makes sense to American friends and what doesn't when they watch British stuff - or read Brit websites or papers.
