Why should I be surprised about this? Should I be?

I was supposed to determine whether my pressure in PSI is greater than, equal to, or less than the atmospheric pressure in PSI. I measured my PSI to be 1.21 Pounds per square inch, and the atmospheric pressure to be 14.7 PSI, but now i have to explain why i am or am not surprised with my answer. Why should I be surprised that my pressure is less than the atmospheric pressure? Should I be surprised?
