I have a sick chicken, it has an inflamed backside. Does anyone now how to treat it?

The chicken's bum is really large and red, it having trouble laying and when it does there is a little blood on the outside of the eggs. Does anyone now how to treat it. It happened once before but it disapeared after a few weeks.
